Privacy Policy

What we collect

We collect the information you provide when you sign up: your email address and password. We also store the domain information you add to track renewals.

We use Simple Analytics for website analytics - it's privacy-first and doesn't use cookies or track personal data.

We also use PostHog for product analytics, session recordings, and error tracking. This helps us understand how you use the app and fix issues faster. PostHog stores a unique identifier in your browser to recognize you across sessions. Session recordings help us see where users get stuck, but we don't record sensitive data like passwords.

How we use your data

We use your domain data to:

  • Send you expiry alerts via email, Slack, or Telegram
  • Display your domains in your dashboard
  • Calculate renewal costs and upcoming renewals

We don't sell your data. We don't share it with third parties except for the services you explicitly connect (like Slack or Telegram for notifications).

Data security and encryption modes

You can choose how your domain data is stored:

Standard Mode (Default)

Your domain data is stored securely in our database. We can see your domain names, which enables:

  • Automatic WHOIS lookup when adding domains
  • Server-side expiry reminders that include domain names
  • Full functionality across all features

Privacy Mode (Opt-in)

When you opt into Privacy Mode, your domain names are encrypted end-to-end using your password. This means:

  • We cannot see your domain names - true zero-knowledge architecture
  • Only you can decrypt and view your domains
  • Your password is required to unlock and view your domains
  • Some features may be limited (e.g., automatic WHOIS lookup)

You can switch between modes in Settings. Your account password is always hashed and never stored in plain text, regardless of which mode you choose.

Your rights

You can:

  • Access all your data through the dashboard
  • Export your data anytime
  • Delete your account and all data from the settings page
  • Opt out of marketing emails (we don't send them anyway)

Cookies

We use cookies for:

  • Authentication and session management (required)
  • Analytics via PostHog (first-party cookies to recognize returning users)

Simple Analytics doesn't use cookies. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Changes to this policy

If we make significant changes, we'll notify you via email. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when this was last revised.
